Purpose & Activities
The China Committee aims to inform Dutch Chamber members about the latest developments in Mainland China in the economic, social, environmental and political field. We welcome members to share their experiences and insights with us with doing business in China (in -and outbound) and to address any hurdles along the way. In the past 2 years, we have organized various seminars, company visits, tours etc. that is in interest to our members such as the recent China Seminar 2024, Huawei Company visit, opening reception of the Netherlands Business Support Office in Shenzhen, news update on the visa-free arrangement for Dutch nationals and traveling in the GBA seminar (resulting in a soon-to-be-published “navigating Mainland China fact sheet”) for our members when traveling in China post-pandemic.
China Seminar
The flagship event of the China Committee is the annual China Seminar, which has been organized for the past 29 years. This is one of the Dutch Chamber's largest events, which looks at future trends in China and covers interesting topics in depth, with a variety of specialised guest speakers. We are pleased to share the success of Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong's China Seminar 2024 "China's Future: Balancing Risks with Opportunities" held on Thursday 21st of March 2024 at The Langham Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. We were delighted with our keynote speakers Ms. Afke Schaart Taghzout (Huawei), Mr. Louis Kuijs (S&P Global) and Mr. Brad (PuYi) Lin (Deloitte) sharing their insights with our moderator Ms. Eleanor Olcott (Financial Times) and the audience. Thankful to all the attendees who were present and actively participated which resulted in a vibrant atmosphere and fruitful discussions. The China Seminar 2024 was made possible thanks to our sponsors PostNL, Deloitte & ING.
Looking ahead
We are planning more interesting events and company visits related to China, such as:
