SME Committee

Goal

This committee represents the large group of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Start-ups that are member of the Dutch Chamber. The SME Committee aims to offer a place for SMEs to meet and share experiences. It assists SMEs in their businesses and helps to solve obstacles faced in Hong Kong and Mainland China. It also represents the Creative Industry since the merger with the Creative Committee. The Creative Platform aims to bring Dutch people together who work in the creative sector in Hong Kong. The term 'creative' is used in the broadest sense of the word; anyone in the fields of advertising, architecture, art, crafts, design, fashion, film, music, performing arts, publishing, R&D, software, toys and games, TV & radio and video games can join the platform. The Committee offers an opportunity for members to present their work, to initiate useful contacts and to exchange information in an informal atmosphere.

Events

This committee identifies areas of interest and organises specific SME & Creative events, such as seminars, art tours, creative mixers and practical workshops on a diverse range of topics. Traditionally, the SME Committee also organises a Christmas Soap Box event, whereby SME contestants combat each other on the Soapbox, and an annual SME VrijMiBo during the summer.

InterSME Committee

An initiative of the Dutch Chamber, this committee aims to connect SMEs from 15 different chambers. This committee organises larger practical seminars covering topics such as IPR, e-Commerce strategies, IT and funding.
