Obituary Joop Litmaath

The Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is deeply saddened with the passing of Joop Litmaath.

During his stay in Hong Kong for almost 5 decades, Joop left a deep mark on many people and organizations around him. Joop was involved in establishing the Business Association in Hong Kong and can therefore be considered as one of the ‘founding fathers’ of the Dutch Chamber. We will be always grateful for his vision and cooperation with our activities over the years.

In addition to his business activities, Joop was also socially highly active in Hong Kong, as a member of foundations and clubs. For the entire contribution of his work in Hong Kong, Joop was made member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Joop. His legacy will live on and he will be remembered. More details on a memorial in Hong Kong will be announced once available.
